FANTASY BASKETBALL RULES

     TEAMS

1.0  Teams will consist of 13 players per team. Rosters will consist of players retained from the previous season, from the rookie draft, from waivers and the player auction.
1.1 Positions will be established from Yahoo Sports. After the start of the season you will be required to notify the league commissioner of any changes to player eligibility.
     ROOKIE DRAFT
2.0  A rookie draft will be held each year before the opening day of the NBA season. The draft will consist of players drafted by NBA teams after the most recently concluded season. Teams with losing records will enter a lottery to determine draft order and the remainder of the first round will draft in the inverse order of the won-loss record of the previous year. The second round will draft in the inverse order of the won-loss record of the previous year. In the event of identical records the team with the lowest total points will draft first.
2.1 Players taken in the rookie draft will have a salary of $1 for lottery picks, 75 cents for the remainder of the first round and 50 cents for second rounders.
AUCTION
3.0  The date of the player auction will be determined by the commissioner. The date will be posted on the basketball page no later than 2 weeks before the start of the season.
3.1  The salary cap will be $50 in 2010 and will increase by $1 each year. After the first week the cap is increased by 10% and cannot be exceeded for any reason. If a owner does not have enough in his account the cap for that team will be the balance in that owners account for auction purposes.
3.2  Every team must be under the salary cap before the bidding starts. If a owner cannot attend or designate a proxy the commissioner will make changes to assure the roster is under the salary cap with the correct roster size.
3.3 The auction will be conducted as follows: The winning team from the previous season will begin by bringing up a player for a minimum of $1. Each successful bid must be followed by that owner bidding on another player or end his participation in any future bids in the current auction. When a owner drops out the owner of the team with the next best record will introduce a new player for bidding.
      WAIVERS
4.0   A team may acquire free agents each week the owner so desires. Week 1 waivers will be the inverse order of the won-loss record of the previous year. If more than one owner requests the same individual player, the team with the least wins will prevail. If a team is making more than one such request, the subsequent players will have to be bypassed by all other teams. After the first week the current standings will determine the order.
4.1   Any player(s) released by a team may not be reacquired by the same team for a period of no less than two weeks from date of release.
4.2   All requests for players must be made by 9:00 AM PDT Friday beginning on the Friday before the start of the second week and ending the Friday before the playoffs.
4.3   A player picked up from waivers will cost $5. The salary for waiver picks is $1.50
      TRADES

5.0   Owners may trade players and/or draft picks only until the NBA trading deadline.  Any trades made after said date shall not take place until the end of the regular NBA season.
5.1 Draft picks must be less than a year and one month away to be traded.
      ROSTERS
6.0   Final rosters for each week must be posted by Sunday morning at 9am. If changes are not received the lineup will remain the same as the previous week. If a illegal lineup is submitted or if a trade or waiver has rendered a lineup illegal the commissioner will make the necessary adjustments to the lineup.
6.1   Each team must start the following: 1 center, 2 forwards and 2 guards.
       SCORING and STANDINGS

7.0   Standings will be determined by won-loss records, ties will be broken by total team points scored.
7.1   The points accumulated by a team's 5 designated starters versus their opponent's 5 starters will determine the outcome of each game.

7.2   Player scores are accumulated by totaling the rebounds, assists, steals, blocked shots and points minus PF and turnovers during the week and dividing that sum by the number of games played by their accual teams. In the event of a NBA trade the team the player is with at the end of the week will be the team used for scoring purposes.
